No official search on trademark is provided by the Registration Office or other governmental state in Myanmar. However, ASLAW can offer trademark search service in Myanmar as we possess a comprehensive archive of newspaper publications of the cautionary notice of trademarks that was collected and updated for a long period.
Filing of Trademark Application for Registration
A trademark can be registered in the Myanmar Registry Office under Section 18 (f) of The Registration Act and Registration Direction 13. When filing an application for registration of a trademark, the required documents and procedures are as follows:
(a) Power of Attorney (POA). Legalization and Notarization are required.
(b) Declaration of Ownership of Trademark (DOT) executed by the applicant.
(c) (Six) clear specimens of the mark to be registered.
